Christmas update!

Hey everyone,
This week we have a new grower! Hope for Health offers healthy baked goods and candies, just in time for the holidays.

Solace Farm has added 2 sheepskin rugs. How cool is that?? She also has super cool garlic leaf card sets, look for them in the Farm Crafts category.

I also wanted to remind everyone that Fountain Springs Farm pork and chicken must be ordered by Monday night every week.

Our next few pickups are Thursday the 18th, Tuesday the 23rd, and Tuesday the 30th. This means ordering will end Mondays at noon. We will be back on schedule Thursday January 8th.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse is taking orders through December 22 for beautiful Christmas kissing balls. Made with live greens and other natural materials, these balls are about 18" in diameter and come in three styles, shown on the market. Each one is mounted on a sturdy hanger and includes a festive red ribbon bow. They are suitable to hang on a shepherd’s crook or from a chain for a beautiful outside Christmas decoration.

Make a collection of common culinary herbs, to give as a gift or to keep for yourself. Please see the description under ‘Farm Crafts,’ ‘Weekly Specials,’ ‘Live Plants – Dish Gardens,’ or ‘Live Plants – Herbs’; and specify your choice of herbs. We have a good selection of herbs available, and have expanded the list from last year. Included are:
Mints (chocolate, peppermint, pineapple [variegated], spearmint, grapefruit)
Oregano (Greek or variegated)
Rue
Rosemary
Sage, Garden
Thyme (Lemon, English, silver-edged, citrus, lime)
Lemon balm
Stevia (small but healthy)

If intended as a gift, please order your herb collection early to allow time for custom preparation. Includes planter, and will make a unique living Christmas centerpiece as well.

The month of Thanks!
I am thankful for every meal I have eaten which included scrumptious local ingredients from this very market in little Tullahoma! I’m also thankful that for 8 years this market has been connecting local growers with local eaters… how cool is that?

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all well and warm.

As other markets have closed, remind your friends that we are a YEAR-ROUND market!

This week Fuel So Good Coffee Roasters is offering free baked-donut samples!

Please bear with Casey Family Farms, as their milk production is down. They are doing everything they can do bring it back up, and appreciate your business and support. Look for Gallon jugs of milk in the coming weeks.

Good morning!
Sitting here with my Fuel So Good Sumatra Coffee, looking at the goods to offer this week.

It’s not too late to order your locally grown jack-o-lantern pumpkin!

Fuel So Good/Karma Bakeria has scones, banana chocolate chip muffins and mini bundt cakes on the market.
And the time is nigh for Healthy Harvest Breads’ Pumpkin Bread!

And I had to share this recipe since I know so many Tullahomians are Chick-fil-a fans. This recipe looks awesome and I know many of you are gluten free. (the secret is the pickle juice brining)
Gluten, Grain, and Garbage Free Chick-Fil-A Nuggets

(Fox Farm has delicious lard, and Fountain Springs has chicken breasts on our market, and I think if you didn’t have pickle juice you could sub a salt water with mustard seeds and dill)

Tom’s Sprouts Spices and Herbs has EIGHT different Sprouts and Microgreens on the market.

Our newest vendor on the Market, Fuel so Good Coffee Roasters has added Fudge, Chocolate Cheesecake, and Gluten Free Baked Goods, read below for some more information about Fair Trade Organic Coffee!

Coffee roasters that source Fair Trade pay a per pound premium. This serves to help better support the farmer and their community (education, health, etc.) while providing roasters with a higher quality coffee bean. As well, Fair Trade standards help protect the environment. Here is a link to the Fair Trade infographic: http://fairtradeusa.org/resources/campaigns/fair-trade-month/infographic Coffee roasters invest in packaging and labeling, e.g. eco-friendly coffee bags with a degassing valve cost more than a traditional foil bag. *Most in-store coffees are packaged in 12 oz. size – not 16 oz! At Fuel So Good, we roast to order. The coffee in your average grocery store is stamped with a shelf life of 12 months + and how does the consumer know how long that coffee has been on the shelf? Ideally, coffee maintains its freshness when properly packaged for up to 3 months. As time passes, it tends to lose the cupping characteristics for which the coffee is noted.
